Jewish Women’s Getaway (JWG) at Ramah Darom is an unforgettable experience, and an opportunity to explore your unique Jewish journey through immersive tracks as you build community, and have fun in the North Georgia mountains. During this 4-day, 3-night getaway, you’ll enjoy a variety of fun activities, delicious kosher cuisine, comfortable lodging, and all the beauty that surrounds you on our 185-acre, breathtaking campus.

Rabbi Jaymee Alpert

Fitness Track Leader

Rabbi Jaymee Alpert is passionate about the connection between spirituality and physical activity. She is the creator of Neshama Body and Soul, a practice that integrates exercise with Jewish prayer and wisdom. She has more than 20 years of experience as a congregational rabbi, having served synagogues in the Bay Area, Westchester, NY, and Princeton, NJ. She was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary and holds master’s degrees in Jewish Education and Jewish Women’s Studies. She currently sits on the boards of Lilith Magazine and RUACH (Jewish movement and meditation studio). In addition, she is a certified life coach and fitness trainer.

Jennifer Kaplan

Art II: Bookbinding Track Leader

Jennifer has been creating art for as long as she can remember. She has worked in a variety of mediums, including metal, clay, fiber, glass, acrylic, pencil, gouache, ink and paper. She is inspired by Hebrew letter forms, sacred texts, and the concept of “Hiddur Mitzvah,” literally, beautification of the commandments. She strives to create beauty and art out of ancient traditions, allowing the texts to come alive through calligraphy, color, papercuts and design. Jennifer spent all her years of schooling studying Hebrew and Jewish texts, and continued her studies at the graduate level, focusing on ancient Semitic writing systems and language. She studied Art, Art History and Jewish and Islamic Studies at Washington University in St. Louis, and did her graduate work in Ancient Near Eastern Cultures at University of California, Los Angeles.

She resides in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband Dave, daughters Jillian and Lydia, and dog, Watson.

Rabbi Avi Killip

Rabbi-in-Residence

Avi Killip is a rabbi, poet, and serves as Executive Vice President at Hadar. A native of Atlanta and former Ramah Darom Camper, Avi graduated from Hebrew College Rabbinical School, and holds both Bachelors and Masters from Brandeis University. She was a Wexner Graduate Fellow and a Schusterman Fellow. Avi teaches as part of Hadar’s Faculty and is host of Hadar’s podcasts, Responsa Radio and Ta Shma. Avi lives in Riverdale, NY with her husband and three children.

 

Sarah Klegman

Writing Track Leader

Sarah Klegman is a writer, speaker, and facilitator who helps people and organizations define and tell their stories with clarity, creativity, and heart. She got her start in the comedy world, then co-founded the viral challah company Challah Hub, wrote for the Jewish women’s wellness organization At The Well, and is thrilled to be back at JWG for her 4th year as a track leader. She’s hosted a podcast, toured internationally as a speaker, and served as Chief Happiness Officer (yes, that’s a real job) at a rapidly scaling tech startup, where she built culture and connection across a global team of 300+ while also leading brand and creative. Her delightfully eclectic background shapes her approach to leadership and facilitation, guiding others to express themselves fully and discover joy in all facets of life.

Amy Price

Homesteading Track Co-Leader

Amy Price lives in Chamblee, GA, with her husband, son, and growing numbers of chickens and beehives. Professionally, she supports people to find employment opportunities and dream big for their lives. Amy has been working with Adamah Atl supporting environmental programming. She spent time at Isabella Friedman working for The Teva Learning Center doing outdoor Jewish environmental education and farming at a youth village in Rwanda. Amy loves all things outdoors and has been fully engaged in turning her home into a homestead and garden oasis.

Laurie Reiskind

Mah Jongg 101 Track Leader

Laurie is thrilled to be a first-time track leader sharing her passion for Ramah Darom and Mah Jongg with others. Her professional training is as an Occupational Therapist primarily focusing on inpatient rehab for those with new Spinal Cord Injuries. She has spent many years as a full-time community volunteer especially within the Jewish community. She is a Hadassah board member, past Synagogue past president and has served on several different committees for Ramah Darom. Her 2 children were both 8-year campers and on staff. Her connection to Ramah Darom began when her family attended family camp and continued as her husband, Marc volunteered as a camp doctor through her own experiences at JWG. She is now thrilled to be giving back to this Ramah community that has given so much to her and her family.

Judy Robkin

Art I: Multimedia Track Leader

A native Atlantan, Judy is a professional studio potter. Her work is shown in numerous juried shows and galleries. In addition to her time at Ramah Darom, she teaches Pottery to adults at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Murphy, North Carolina, and enjoys sharing her love of art with her students. At Ramah Darom, whether teaching drawing, painting, clay or fabric arts, she encourages creativity and individuality to seasoned artists as well as to beginners.

McKenzie Wren

McKenzie Wren (she/her/hers) is a facilitator who works in multiple arenas to support connection and growth. As Wren Consulting, she works with businesses and non-profits to support inclusion and belonging. As Ma’ayan Spiritual Arts, she facilitates art, ritual and connection through Earth-based, embodied Jewish practices uplifting the Divine Feminine.  At the heart of everything she does is the belief in the power of relationship, community and connection to nature. Whether facilitating art experiences, ritual or ceremony, workshops or classes, McKenzie creates a space where each person is seen, heard and valued and has an authentic experience.

Shani Rotkovitz

Photographer

Shani Rotkovitz is a Los Angeles–based photographer and producer whose work blends observation, intuition, and authenticity. Favoring candid moments over posed ones, she captures people as they truly are—whether at concerts, on film sets, in protests, or in quiet exchanges—revealing the emotion and connection that often go unnoticed. A Baltimore native with a film degree from Emerson College and an M.F.A. in Producing from AFI, Shani has led creative and production efforts for major entertainment projects, including Apple campaigns. A proud member of the ROI Community and B’nai David-Judea, she is a passionate advocate for inclusion, storytelling, and creative empowerment, using her lens to help others slow down, look closer, and find meaning in the unscripted.

2025 Rates

Rates are per person for 4 days/3 nights, based on accommodation type, and include all activities, food, and beverages. Travel is not included.

First Timer Discount: First-time JWG participants get 10% OFF registration in a cabin or double occupancy hotel room with discount code JWGFIRST.

Payment Schedule

  • Due at Registration: A $75 non-refundable deposit for each participant will be processed.
  • October 3, 2025: Full payment due. No refunds are offered after this date. See ‘Cancellation Policy’.

 

Payment can be made via credit card, e-check, or by mailing a check. If paying via credit card, a 2.5% fee will be processed. There is no fee to pay via e-check or mailed check. Please ensure mailed checks reach our Atlanta office by the payment due date indicated.

Cancellation Policy

We strongly encourage purchasing Trip Protection Insurance. This insurance must be purchased before your final payment is made! While we understand that unexpected life events can happen between registration and the retreat, please note that our refund policies are based on the significant upfront costs we incur once your registration is confirmed. As a result, we regret that we cannot provide any refunds after October 3, 2025, for any reason.

Lodging

Shared Cabins

Bunks

Ramah Darom’s cabins are modern and spacious with hardwood floors, a screened-in porch, and indoor bathroom(s). Each cabin has an open area with dorm-style bunk beds, two private rooms with twin beds, and a shared bathroom with toilet stalls, showers, and sinks. The private rooms within each shared cabin are available on a first-come basis. Linens are provided, but beds are not made up.

 

Hotel Rooms

There are four hotel buildings on our 185-acre campus. All hotel rooms have a private bathroom, heating and air conditioning, a dresser, a table with two chairs, a personal coffee maker with pods, a mini-fridge, complimentary hotel-style toiletries, and bed and bath linens. Most rooms have two queen beds, and a few have one king bed or two full beds. A limited number of connecting rooms are available, and some hotel rooms are ADA-accessible.

Deluxe Private Cottages

Cottages

There are four private cottages on Ramah Darom’s campus—our most luxurious accommodations. Nestled among the trees, these cozy, studio-style cottages feature a king-sized bed, a full-sized pullout couch, a private porch, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. A small kitchenette includes a sink, refrigerator, and a personal coffee maker with pods. All cottages have heating and air conditioning, a dresser, a table with two chairs, complimentary hotel-style toiletries, and bed and bath linens. These charming accommodations are best suited for two guests and provide an elevated retreat experience. Cottages are not ADA-accessible and can only be accessed via stairs.

Ramah Darom is two hours from Atlanta, in Clayton, GA. Please download and print these Driving Directions and bring them with you when you travel. GPS shortcuts can lead you to dangerous mountain roads!

If you need transportation to or from the Atlanta Airport, please complete the necessary information in your registration on your dashboard. The shuttle is $75 per person each way.

  • November 2: The bus will depart from the airport at 1:30pm ET (flights should arrive by 12:30pm ET)
  • November 5: The bus will leave campus at 12:00pm ET (flights should depart after 5:00pm ET)
